Charities Supported

In 2002, the Orchestra Committee decided to enlist the support of the Pilgrims Hospices in East Kent for our Christmas concert.  Realising that this very worthy charity has an enormous local following, it was felt that we could work together to hopefully attract a much larger audience, at the same time raising much needed funds for the charity.

This proved to be an enormous success and it is now the tradition that we aim to support a selected charity at most of our concerts.  The result has been that the orchestra has benefited by having increased audiences, thereby gaining more interest in the orchestra and having people who will come again and hopefully give us more regular support. In return, the charities that we have supported have all benefited from this partnership with donations that we have been able to raise for them.
