1) As a Player

If you are an instrumentalist, the conductor and committee are always pleased to see potential new members and we are happy for anyone to give the orchestra a try for a couple of weeks to see if you are interested in becoming a permanent member. We are always in need of more string players and from time to time we also need additional wind players.

If you decide to join the orchestra as a player and are confirmed by the committee as being of the required standard (generally at least Grade 7, although experience is taken into account), you will be expected to commit to regular rehearsals.

The current annual membership fee is £72 for adults and £15 for students.

2) As a Friend

If you don’t play a musical instrument, but come along regularly to our concerts, then why not consider joining us as a Friend of the Orchestra? Our list of Friends is growing due to our popularity and in return for your support in joining the Friends Scheme, you will receive a complimentary ticket to each of our three concerts that we give each year.

We have a special price for joining during our 50th Anniversary year. Our Friends membership for the remainder of this Season (i.e. until September 2012) is only £15 per person or £25 for a couple.
